Dhw

The answer to your questions is "Maybe"

Bronze is the tried and true standard however there are other choices that can meet you needs. i.e. Aluminum and Stainless

Just check the pump spec's and see if its approved for that application...

PS: If you looking for a small bronze B&G pump I have a few send me a PM

ahh, yes that's probably correct.

Although, it has been used in the past I do not think it is allowed today.

Brass, Bronze, Cu, SS or plastic for potable water.

I got an extra pump with my Shaver 165, because i got an upgraded pump for the furnace itself. They gave me the standard pump too. Its an Astro 30.

I was going to use it for my domestic hot water( DHW) but I was told that I would need a bronze pump not the cast iron Astro that I have now.

What kind of pump are you guys using for your DHW?

rule of thumb

Use a bronze pump when the water is open to air.. closed loop can be a cast steel pump.

I am having problems with my taco 007 in a second loop with my open air boiler system.....

seems to lock up when shut off for a few days.
