Quick Stihl 009 question

I am farting around with an older 009 and was wondering were the intake into the air box is? The filter looks like it "works backwards" and I want to know if the air comes from the drive side or flywheel side.(or somewhere else)

Yep it filters from the bottom side. A PITA cause the box gets really messy and without compressed air is difficult to clean out. Air enters small slits in the air box below the carb adjustment screw grommets.
