SAFTY Chaps saved one of my guy's legs

Well chalk up another leg saved by chaps today. One of my guys trimming a tree for fire wood got his left leg mid thigh. Chaps stopped the saw and worked great. I would estimate a savings of $40K. Not bad for a pair of $60 chaps. I have pics of the chaps I can text.

Did the chaps stop the MS 661 R C-M or was it some other lesser saw?

It was a muff mod 460. 3/8 skip chain.

That's not a hint of blood that I see is it? Can a saw actually get through the chaps before it stops?

No blood. The chain never made it through the other side.

Thanks for the post. Made it a point to only run the saw with chaps on. This post just reinforces that.

Ya, it's wear em or loose a one sided fight with a set of spinning razor blades. Good to hear he's all right to work another day.
