A friend of mine is considering buying a Salsco wood chipper....Probably a 12" or larger. He's looking for a trailer type with diesel engine. Has anyone owned or used one and how would you rate them?

I never owned one. My mind set would be why buy a harbor frieght brand tool, instead of buying a name brand proven design when its your lively hood.

we own 1 13 years ago and put it for Sale 2 weeks the dealers himself did event wanted to buy it at a use price after we got it, they are lemon, good for the rental place that all.

we finally found a zucker for it, they where made in my town i lived in Cheshire, CT back then, so i did give it a shot, but no , go with vermeer or morbark ,

hope this help, paid a little more and get a qualitywood chipper, they are not industrial chipper.
