Saw stabilizer for filing

I'd like to know what y'all do to stabilize your saw while you file the chain in the field.

Also what is the best field sharpening kit?

I put the saw on the tailgate with the bar pointing away from me and lean over it. I'm about 6'2 so I hold the powerhead with my stomach and the bar with my free hand while I file with the other one. I use a Stihl file kit and just git-r-done.

I know alot of guys use a stump vise. I know stihl makes one as do many other companies. I don't use one my self I just hold the bar with one hand and file with the other. I havnt had any issues doing it that way.

Well, I'm awaiting my stump vise from Baileys, but mostly I've been using my Alaskan Mark III

Like the saw on the bottom.

Hold's the saw REAL steady.

Just sit on the board while you sharpen and it is solid.
