A few years ago before Jack Silvey retired I was having issues with my lock pawl cable peeling and stretching so here's the first fix they recommended, a 5/16th flat washer. This fix didn't fix my issue so here's the next fix, where the cable goes through the body they took a bolt drilled through it for the cable to pass through as well as drilling and tapping the housing for the bolt.
