Here's my latest interpretation of another Chippendale piece.
The original is a Boston Style Chest on Chest.
The Walnut is air dried and seasoned for about 5 yrs.
This tree was a Township tree that came down in a storm.
I milled it with one of those "Haddon Lumber Maker" things and a Crapsman
18" saw.
That was before I got the 395xp and the Alasken.
With that rig I was able to consistently get 14" boards and milled logs up to
about 26" (albeit with a lot of turning).
The point is, you can do a lot with a little, just to get started in milling.

Beautiful, and from air dryed, csm'd, city tree, lumber. Here's to working with what you have.

I've never cared for walnut as I think that it is too dark(like the lighter woods) but you changed my mind very nice work, that looks real good

I have had good luck using a water based finish to keep the walnut light. Oil based finish makes it very dark.

Wow, i have made a couple of tables. After seeing your work i will have to keep mine in a cave for Zopi's neanderthals.
