Absolutely. I split all of my wood at home and live in the boonies so I can do basically anything I want to. I've got a particular area that I drop my rounds to be split, (near my growing 5+ cord long by 2-wide stacked row. Occasionally I sift through the bark and debris and section off all of the Hedge and Locust bark. Everything else goes to the bonfire spot as tinder. A couple balls of newspaper and about 5 ash scoops of Hedge/Locust bar and smaller shavings will be roaring and causing you to the load the stove w/oven or welding gloves when it's time to put actual splits in.
