I offered to help a neighbor out with a Brave splitter that hasn't run in 5-6 years. Really just needs the Tecumseh engine worked on. Figured it would be an easy air filter, plug and oil change.
Seems it has a governor and messed up linkage. I've worked on small engines a fair amount but am not familiar with governed engines and haven't been able to make sense of the linkage and how its intended to work. On top of that I can't get it running. Gas in the cylinder and reinstall the plug it will start briefly but not run. Figure that's likely the carb which I'll pull and look into.
It's a Tecumseh HM-100 if anyone has ideas. Maybe bypass the governor and just set it up with a throttle?
Thanks for any help.

When I pulled the carb it was obvious why it didn't run! New carb and it's running. Think I figured out the linkge but not running very well. I'll try tweaking the carb next.
