recently acquired a stihl 009, orange and white. just got the oiler fixed. when i fired it up it would start and idle but when revved up it dies after about 3 - 5 seconds. the fuel is fresh. i'm gonna get a new filter but figured i'd also rebuild the carb since this saw has seen some serious abuse and neglect.
i noticed this carb only has adjustments for the L mixture and not for the H. what's up with that? how do you tune for high rpm's? noticed on fleabay that some carbs available have adjustments for both H and L. will that carb bolt right on?
also, not sure what type of carb this is. the users manual doesn't say. i haven't pulled the carb yet but wondered if more than one type of carb (manufacturer) was used on these saws?
