Stihl 031Av Oil Seal Question

I am replacing the flywheel side oil seal. On the old one it leaked on the outer edge were it meets the casting(pressure test and some oil gave that away). What type of sealant is recommended or is it designed to be put in dry?

Usually seals are installed dry and with a bit of grease on the lips to avoid "burning" them.Look if the case is not scratched.
