stihl 045 no spark

Have an 045 I bought from the original owner 5 or 6 years ago. Recently no spark. 99% sure it has a points ignition but won.t know until a flywheel puller I ordered gets here. Did a little research and found there is an electronic upgrade out there. My question is should I just stay with the points ignition or go for the upgrade?

Electronic upgrades can offer smoother operation and potentially fewer maintenance hassles. If you're comfortable with the switch and appreciate the convenience, it could be the better move.

Tried that after first changing all the ignition components and no spark. $85 wasted.

I rebuilt an 045 with a new ignition module and threw away the other parts. I do not recall changing the flywheel. Regardless, that worked and the saw runs today. I say go for the upgrade:
