I did a search on this and drew a blank. I just bought a Stihl cover off ebay (from mc_service) (1125 648 0460) and it turned out the bolt boss for the bucking spike was pulled through but it will work OK without spikes on my 260 and other saws. The cover had a large outside spike and I already had a 660 inside spike to match and that is why I bought it. Plus during our summer project we will go through at least 1 clutch cover so I'll start out with a crappy cover. Anyway my question is about the plastic buffers. I don't know the exact name of this part so please correct me. Both the cover and the housing have the keyhole shaped slots to accept the buffers but no saw I have bought have the buffers mounted on the cover. Are they needed or even better to have on the cover than not?
Next question, I believe there is a large and a small rubber chip deflector that mounts an the clutch cover. Is there a reason to not use the larger deflector?
Is there a large and a small cover for the MS660 that fits the new style chamfered bar studs?
Thanks everyone.
