Stihl Oil Tank Vent

I have an 036 that leaks oil from the tank vent. I've poked around in the vent hole trying to get it to seal with no luck. I can order a new valve and drive the old vent valve into the tank to remove it, but how am I going to get the new valve started in its bore so I can drive it in without splitting the cases?

Thanks, that's almost too easy. Looking in the tank I thought the inside end of the valve had a flange on it.

Try blowing compressed air through your vent to clean it out.
