If I think a used saw being sold on Craigs List may have been stolen. Can I call Stihl to see who registered the saw if I have the serial #?

Not sure if Stihl would know, You can call your Local PD and see if they will run the Ser # for you, If the saw was reported stolen and the owner gave the Officer the Ser # it should then have been added to a Database that all PD's have access to and it should come up stolen.
