I did notice that he still has all ten fingers. That's an amazing feat in itself.

Then there is another thing. One man operating a a typical hydraulic log splitter can split wood faster than two or three men operating a chain saw apiece can buck it to length. Two men operating one log splitter (one guy brings the billets into easy position and helps clear and stack or load) can probably keep up with five sawyers.
So, I say any mechanical device like this with an automatic ram and return is not only dangerous but complete overkill. Just my $.02
the arm attached to the split head--looks like a rack drive off something--and if so--thats really hard stuff--and if hes put heavier bolts in the shear point in the flywheel, if he gets tooo hard a piece---that pinion is going to blow---and id just as soon not be around---
