Posted several times.... could not start my 285 it sat and got tight.

Now way could i pull it over, way to stiff to start felt like the rope was going to break.

I put a second gasket under the cylinder, lowered the compression and it stared second pull.

Ran It a while, pulled the second gasket out, and it drop starts first pull every time. Been trying to get it going for seven years.

Thanks for the help ,I have CAD

Nice you got her running. Like I responded to you once before, a bear to start in real cold weather.
Have you done a muffler mod to it yet? Mine is my main bucking saw and have always run a 24" bar and chain.

I am a small guy with a office job and old.

It was stiff would not turn over , Now it's like butter.

It was cold last night and it starts better then my New 361 way better.

How do you mod a muffler that is already wide open????

I never hot rodded any thing just run my stuff for ever.

Is it the original muffler? The original mufflers had a baffle in them which you can open up a bit. I bought and aftermarket which had nothing in it, but I only purchased to have a spare. The 2100 muffler is the same thing. I'm still using the original muffler.
