As the title says. What are the your "must have" "Hi-Tech parts" ?
1.Is it the super light weight bars?
2.Is it the best powerful powerhead?
3. Is it the best chain?

What is the saws, parts, Hi-Tech goodies that you had to have and if not, you would lose sleep over it.

Also what do you like about chainsaws? Is it the sound? Is it the feeling of a screeching engine in your hands? Or even the looks of your favorite saw(s) part(s)? Etc. Etc.

As usual we all need to post some pics.

I will start first,
Stihl 661R. No, I didn't need this saw but had to have it. The price hurt. But my C.A.D. Kicked in and you guys helped. Lol

I've two saws, an extra chain or two, and with help I cut 10 cords or wood a year. I'm complete!

The only must have was the 25ton log splitter. I quit cutting multi year downfall and the effort to split fresh rounds had become to much effort.

I have a thing for big saws. 90cc and up. I have too many "project saws" needing parts to spend money on those fancy bars. I've considered paring down my collection to just a couple nice saws but these basket case saws keep drawing me back in.

I guess collecting saws to sit on the shelf is a hobby, but buying saws to use isn't a hobby in my book. That said, it can be expensive either way.

Got enough room on that full wrap to mount a coffee cup holder. That's a must have accessory.

Or build a jeep rock climber. Just Empty Every Pocket. To answer your question, yes, it can become expensive if you get infected with a bad case of CAD. I like oem top ends and Cannon bars (not light, long lasting). Nice Saw for a Stihl.

HA,, not a hobby for me either... Needed saws to block firewood,,, came here to learn all I could about finding, servicing, using saws... Got some some older Poulans and Homelites, that I keep in shape and were cheap to pick up on the used market,,, served me well for many years now...
Just have to weigh the cost of chains, bars, fuel line, carb kits against the price of natural gas... saws are cheap!!!!

No brainer here on LPG , stick all the #'s together including furnace and hot water efficiencies and LPG comes out a bit ahead of fuel oil , either way they are wallet munchers. In most areas electric is a wallet muncher also.
