Timber Tax in NA??

here in illinois, a 4% tax has to be paid to the state on all timber that is sold, i was just curious if there was any other places that did anything like this. looking forward to the replies.
 
NH has a timber tax. Ten percent of stumpage at the time of sale. It is a tax that was designed to help woodland owners. Instead of paying taxes on their wood every year, the woodland owner only pays when the wood is "severed."
The tax on the land itself is low.
