Can a 5" cylinder ram be installed on a TW-2 to increase the splitting force? Splits good until you get to a piece of cottonwood or knarly chunk. Just wanting more splitting force. Thanks!

Yes on a TW 2 a 5" cylinder of the same type should drop right in the same location as the 4" cylinder. A problem may arise with having only a 5" frame it may not handle the extra tonnage.

I you have a gage on the hydraulic system you may be able to increase the pressure relief on the valve to gain an extra ton or two.

Check Mounting Dimensions

A 5 inch dia cylinder is going to be nominally 1/2 inch higher to the cylinder's centerline than the stock 4 inch. This may not be compatible with the rear mounting bracket and moving push plate connection on the TW-2.

I'd call Timberwolf. They're very helpful and will let you know if it can be done economically.

As to turning up the relief setting, get a gauge in the line first and be sure you're developing the correct pressure before making any adjustments.

Take Care
