agreed, assuming it is for your domestic hotwater, you really should use a tempering valve. I just turn my burner down so the hot water is between 135-140 at the house, still too hot but we only have adults in the house. Hopefully we are not dumb enough to burn ourselfs. CJ
 
I would use a tempering valve especially if you have small children. 135-140 water can cause severe burns in seconds.
 
Any water to water exchanger will heat the DHW to the same point as the boiler water. The size of the exchanger only effects the efficiency of the heat transfer. As others said, use a tempering valve and don't worry about it. A good tempering valve is cheap insurance...it will cost less than a trip to the ER.
