The weeping birch is approximately 10 to 12 years old and looked perfect in early spring. Now maybe 1/3 of the major branches are appearing dead, dropped all leaves and after four weeks no new growth. The rest of the tree looks normal. The branches are still limber. I can see no insects or evidence of mold. What should I try?

The number one killer of Weeping Grey Birches is Bronze Birch Borers. If one third is toast this early think about replacing with a tree of less maintenance. You can attempt to bring it back with Imidacloprid injections.
