Weird Fungus on Japanese Maple...Treatment ??

Fairly new Japanese Maple began a grown about half way up the tree. Is there a treatment for this ??
Second picture is after I watered it.

Scrape it off, carefully. Looks like a mold that comes from the mulch in that fuzzy picture.

Good call treeseer I have seen Dog Vomit Fungus grow on low growing foliage before, just hose it off.
