The rpm's will change as you hold the saw in different positions. This could also be carb problems, so it is best to pressure/vacuum test the crankcase.
You can put some oil over the seals to see if it corrects the problem temporarily too.

Not passing a pressure test, while blowing soapy bubbles around the crank seal is a bad sign. Felt like being a smart :censored: , sorry.
