Just curious, what rpm are the average 50cc, 70cc, and 90cc saws turning when in the wood??

I read the thread title and see my grammatical error, how do I change that, dang?????

It'll cost you points to change it?

The modern pro saws cut around 9500 rpm

My muffler modded 880 on my CS mill has a permanent tach mounted on it like this

The blue thing is a temp gauge.

When self feeding on a slope and doing this it was pulling those revs above

When I lean on it a bit like this

the revs drop to 8.5 - 9k.

More pics here.

While those RPM's are a good reference, I wouldn't tune a saw to a certain speed.

My Super 250 does something like 6K out of the wood and about 5999 buried in hardwood, lol.

actually, i wouldn't know, but that's what it sure seems like!

When cutting with stock to various stages of modded 441's we were getting 10,200 to 12,200 depending on the extent of the modds, this was with a 28" bar buried completely and semi chisel and either full comp or full skip.

They were all tuned to 4 stroke when the pressure was lifted.

Just for reference.
