When can I resell a tree, charge rent or consider it abandon

I sold a few rows of trees in 2004-2005 after I purchase an acreage that once had a tree farm. The guy did not take all the trees and has not been around for 6 years. How long before I can resell them, charge rent/maintenance, or consider them abandon and cut them down.

I have someone else interested in some of the trees. They were 7 ft tall and now they are 30ft tall.

Did you have a contract w/ the logger?If so,what does it say?

No contract. Just yes I will take these trees and here is an envelope of cash.
