The only time mine goes all the way back is if the auto valve gets there before the next round or when I'm done for the day.

for auto return splitters drill a hole in the top of the I-beam ( behind the push block were you want it to stop) and drop bolt in it .
a lot faster to pull a bolt than to jack with cylinder stop!
