Which shape machete for Salal and blueberry?

Hi gang, I do a lot of trail clearing with a variety of equipment, depending on the vegetation. Often we encounter a lot of Salal and blueberry. Often we use a brushcutter, which works OK, but I am interested in trying a machete.

There are lots of shapes, sizes and weight of machetes and I am pretty confused at what would work best for Salal and Blueberry. Kukri? Parang? Cutlas? Sugar cane?

For a little over a $100 I would buy the Barong, Panga, and Kukri from Cold Steel. Figure out which one suits your needs the best, and sell, keep, or give away the others.

I don't know the salal you're in, but some of the salal I've worked in is more suitable to cutting with a chainsaw.
