I was close, mine is a Sears and Roebuck, bought it in the late 70's. I also have a similar one branded Oregon but it's not as sturdy and doesn't hold the angles and stops as well as the Sears.

Not trying to be a smart*ss; but curious if the guide was just mounted for the photo, or if you normally file with your chain in that direction? Also interested in that file.

I tried to take a photo on the bench but couldn't get it at the proper angle so I just set it on a bar. I'm not sure what your interest is in the file, it's just a triangle file for the rakers.
 
I assumed that it was triangular, but it looked flat, so I just wanted to ask.

Some guys do things 'differently'; it is not always 'wrong'. And I am always interested in learning about other methods, so I ask.
