Howdy, I live in Northern California and I lost a cherished Ponderosa Pine when the outfit that clears the power line right of ways dropped her this morning. Typically they always get permission--but nobody asked this time.

My questions is, what does a yellow dot mean? Is that standardized or is it different company to company. The tree was marked with a yellow dot.

Thanks

Did the tree have any issues? I to live in northern CA and the line clearance company usual just trims any branches that have grown into the clearance area or they will top small trees under the lines. Generally the only time they do a removal is if the tree has died. I always figured that keeping the tree there was good job security because they would be out the following year trimming it again.
