    Anyone tree camp?

I'm a side sleeper and have a Lawson hammock. It is two point attachment but meets your other criteria with mosquito net and fly. I haven't tried it in the treetops yet, but it's on the bucket list this year. You might take a look. It stays flatter than most as it is rectangular and has a...

    Semi-permanent TIP

Guess this may be one of those sites with low participation. Today I picked up 5/16 galvanized chain WLL 1800# and 5/16 links, rated more than chain. I like Greengreer's idea of retrievability. In searching for rated rings large enough to pass a throw bag for retrieval the cost is as much as...

    Semi-permanent TIP

Greengreer - presumably the chafe guard (rubber hose?) is on the chain as a bark saver, not a friction saver? 5/16 or 3/8 chain with WLL >1200# ok? Chain version of a cambium saver. ANSI rated links and rings, one ring small enough to pass thru the other. Is that pretty much what you're...

    Semi-permanent TIP

I'm interested in thoughts on leaving a TIP in place for several months during deer season to hunt from using my New Tribe saddle. I've been climbing for 4 years primarily doing tree work on my own property. Started out Ddrt with Blakes closed system. Now climb Ddrt open on micro pulley/VT and...

    Mac 120

The good news...disassembly only took 13 minutes. Adjusted lever to level with carb rim. Lost the idle latch spring during disassembly and never did find it even with smooth concrete floor. Reassembled and ready to try out in under 1hr, including spring search. Bad news...it barks during...

    Mac 120

Sorry 'podgy' fingers,& old age, should read Reset idle, the Idle screw is the screw on the carb that pushes on to part of the throttle spindle When you release the trigger the saw when adjusted goes to idling Screwing in the increases the idle revs screwing out has the opposite effect The bit I...

    Mac 120

Excellent, thanks! Can you clarify what you mean by "...when adjusting 'L' rest idle screw to suit"? What is meant by "rest"? Presuming this means "adjust" the idle screw which is the spring loaded screw used to set the trigger during startup?

    Mac 120

That would be excellent! It is a Walbro D1 MDC.

    Mac 120

I have a Mac 120 I'm trying to bring back to life. It died years ago when ethanol came on the scene. I got another saw, but would like to dedicate that, with 3/8 drive and automatic oiler, to a Simpson capstan winch. I soaked and rebuilt the Walbro carb on the 120. In the process I raised the...
