Have you tried Oxylic acid to clean the stains? If it’s tanning stain, that should remove it quickly. If mold or fungus, it won’t

I I really wish I knew that one. I feel confident with my dogs chewing on wood treated with it and my skin contact. Inhaling burning fumes is different. You could contact one of the manufacturers. They’d have better input. I know it’s pretty mammal safe, but have no experience with burning.

I use Bifen on my lumber . Keeps ants, termites, beetles out . Works great!

Maybe chop up an aftermarket cover and adapt that bad boy on. Wouldn't want to hack up my oem. If I ever get any free time, will have to give it a try
