    357XPG Worth rebuilding?

It does have a new filter and line. I did use hose that was approximately the same size for the vent line. I may change that to oem. I'll have to pull the carb and check the model. never did look when I cleaned it. It lost it's limiter caps though.

    357XPG Worth rebuilding?

It' been a long cold winter and I haven't wanted to put much work into saws. Made a push a few weeks ago and finished up the the 357XPG. I was running low on firewood and wanted to see what all the fuss is about heated handle bars. It is a lovely saw and the warm handle bars are awesome when...

    Bar Rail Closer in Canada?

Does anyone know a source for bar rail closes up here in the great white north? I have a few bars that I'd like to clean up before they get retired to the cabin.

    357XPG Worth rebuilding?

I finally got around to looking at the saw better and dug out the parts saw that came with it. Turns out the parts saw had a great looking piston and cylinder on in so for the time being I am making one saw out of 2. got a few new parts ordered for if, a decomp valve, new ring, crank seals, and...

    357XPG Worth rebuilding?

I more or less got a burnt up Husky 357XPG given to me. I've normally been a Stihl guy but do like the Husky 266 I have. I know this saw has seen a hard life. I was used semi professionally for a spruce firewood operation. My buddy bought it off the firewood guy and was using it as his main...

    Your coldest weather

As one of the more northern members here I thought I'd pop in here. We have had daytime highs in the -30c's for the last 4 weeks up here. Except last weekend, it warmed up to -23c in the daytime. Coldest I personally have ever seen is a day time temp of -51c. Not sure what happens this cold snap...

    stihl 026 problems

Something else you should be doing when running your saws at those temps(if you aren't already). One the top cover there is a 2 sided black cover, one side is solid and the other side has a hole in it. That cover needs to be repositioned with the hole open to allow hot air from the cylinder area...

    new blaze king

To be honest I don't need the extra heat and I enjoy the quiet of the eco fans.

I personally don't have a convection deck or blower fan. I don't think it would help much in my situation. I do use a pair of Eco fans though and they seem to work great.

    Huztl Flippy Caps?

The screw in cap on my 660 kit doesn't work. The gasket does not fit the grove and the cap does not look round.

    Runnin' Loads

Here is my last load of firewood for the winter. For the house anyway.

I set my knob a bit cooler than horizontal but it changes with the OAT. It took me a week or to to figure out what worked best at my house. I also ended up running the stove a bit cooler after I got a blower circuit rigged up an my furnace.

    new blaze king

That is basically what I do with my stove. I load it twice a day and my house(1216 sqft modular home) is always 20+ degrees. The longest burn I've had is about 20 hours with an OAT of -40, I could push it longer if I tried.

    new blaze king

Looks normal to me too. I have a 3 year old Sirocco 30. Mine runs 24 hours a day from October 1st to April sometime and the as needed the rest of the year. My glass is never clean, I hope you didn't want to watch a pretty fire all the time. Creosote builds in mine quickly in the corners and...
