I’m guessing 20 splits

Had to fire up the Hardy last weekend here in Western Illinois. It got down to 26 degrees last night.

Getting ready for winter 2017 here in Illinois. We had to fire the wood burner up today.

The bigger the better! Just not big enough to give me a hernia. Our splitter stands up horizontally for the big chunks. No it's not fun wrestling them, but I'm in the woods to make lots of firewood. We cut and split everything before loading it so that we don't have to handle the big chunks twice.

My father and I run a small time firewood business In Illinois. This is just our second year and we have picked up enough customers to slack on advertising and to be as busy as we want to be. I heat entirly with wood, but I still contract some lp in case of emergency. Got my contract for 1.29 a gallon here in rural Illinois. Not sure of the current price here.

I'm up here in west central Illinois where the temperatures have been in the teens for the last week. The warmer it gets the more moisture there is, but even with these cold temps it never completely dries up. It also seems to be consistent whether I'm burning seasoned wood or not too seasoned...
