    Echo 15% Discount Days

Great deal! Where can we find new Echo's at 60% off. I don't mind ordering online.

    Echo 15% Discount Days

Nah, only the electric and a few small cc units look to be excluded. Bottom of the page shows exclusions. All gas saw available. I may have to check out the 620P. The old rate of 20% would be better though.

    58CC JonCutter G5800

One dislike for me is the recoil starter on the 5800. Does anyone know if a standard recoil pulley will be a direct fit/swap fot the "easy start" pulley? The "easy" on the 5800 is 74mm in diameter and 36mm tall, roughly. Steel pawls on the flywheel. From online descriptions the standard pulleys...

    58CC JonCutter G5800

Usually Echo brand from HD or ProSelect(sp?) from Lowes online for the case discounted price. I would not doubt the Stihl silver jug oiling a little better but local cost is around $24 a gallon with no price break for cases.

    58CC JonCutter G5800

The saw seems pretty well put together. @NSEric nailed the description. The saw starts easily and runs good. Feels small and light. Kind of torquy, not fast, home owner type saw power. First 4 tanks have been 20:1 premix. Out of the box tune after about half a tank the saw would get almost 11k...

    58CC JonCutter G5800

I ordered the 5800 and it showed up Monday. Packed well. The label on the recoil cover says "54.6cc". The saw has an "easy-start" type recoil pulley. I am not a fan, I rather things be simple. Initially no oil from bar pump, had to prime the oil pump to get it working. I am using a 20" bar in...

    58CC JonCutter G5800

Any update? I am curious after seeing all of the ~$100 Zenoah clones from China. The JonCutter from Hutzl looks as good as any other Zenoah clone to tinker with. Maybe Farmertec will eventually offer spare parts. A saw that I would not feel bad putting a $10 P/C kit on.

    Synthetic Oil

That is incorrect. JASO and ISO set a minimum standard for lubrication, cleanliness and smoke. If JASO certified they will have a seal plus # unique to that product, not sure of ISO. Just because a manufacture claims a status does not make it true unfortunately.

    Echo CS 501P first impression

I use a two year old MS 261C(non-mtronic, new style side cover) and an year old CS 501P(muffler baffle removed), both tuned. 50cc pro saws are the most verstile for my needs. Both wear 16" bars with 3/8" chain. If I were a professional making a living with saws I would go with the Stihl; better...

    Dealing With Dirko...?

I use the longer included nozzle while cutting the tip to as small of an opening as possible. The black heartish shaped twisty thing is a must and it is still difficult to dispense. I wish Dirko came in a smaller single use tube.

Best Top Handle Saw Under $350?

I have not needed Echo's warranty service but have heard Echo can be difficult in that area. So I removed the limiters and lightly modded the muffler right off the bat. The factory WOT spec for the 355T is 13.3-14.5k. I keep mine tuned between 13-13.5k and it pulls better than a little saw...

Best Top Handle Saw Under $350?

I'm not a climber. Also I have more time with Stihl and most of what I own are Stihl. But I have an Echo 355T that might be my favorite little saw. Easiest starting two-stroke I have had. Good performance. It is a clam shell design, but seems durable and has been totally reliable. Did I mention...

    Synthetic Oil

Yes, 2 - 3 years and up to 5 years unopened claimed by some brands. Personally I would not worry using from the metal can for a year or so. The quart size can is convenient, reuse the can. Husqvarna brand premix ran real well in my Stihl(dealer PDI fill) and Tru-Fuel brand seems good also.

    The Beg for Manuals Thread

I am in need of a shop/service manual for a STIHL 044. A parts list(IPL?) or diagram would be helpful also. Much obliged for any assistance.
