I,ve got an old 28" homelite narrow tail bar that I got at a farm last year but the rails are worn down . On the k095 bars I elongate the bar adjuster hole so it will fit the homelite adjuster. Prolly just snag a k095 bar from ebay.

Thoughts on building a modded homelite XL-1

Walbr HDB is what I put on there. I havent tried anything larger. The pipe muffler idea may be the jam. Havent tried that yet either. Seen internet pics of shorty exhaust pipe.....maybe 5" long.

Vid of it running Carb from a mcculloch timber bear may work better , I think it has same vacuum location as the stock carb and a venturi that is most likely larger. I have not verified that.

Do it......enlarge the opening on muffler. Some mufflers have baffles on the outside....chop off the extra bits. Put on a larger carb. I went 1 size larger. Used a carb from an echo 660 which required me to tap into the intake block for a vacuum signal. There should be some McCulloch saws...

    Lombard chainsaws

Made a few mods to Lombard AP42. Has 4 petal reed housing. Gut the muffler, slap on a carb from Homelite 925. The venturi is 1 size larger. And will have to shorten the low jet so it fits in the carb box. Or can modify carb box and use the Homelite 925 grommet. Runs like a decent saw now...
