    Finally want an electric sharpener.

If you're going to use it a lot get the Oregon 620 or tecomec version of it. The hydraulic clamp looks pretty sweet for saving time and effort. I have the cheapest mini chain grinder you can get and it's alright for the few chains I sharpen but I wouldnt recommend it for everyday use. My buddy...

Why do "Chinesium" chainsaws need a richer oil mix?

Chainsaws dont really cut at anything less than full throttle, you cant run them easy to break them in like a car. For break in on my saws which happen to be all chinese saws all I do is take a bunch of extra breaks and not cut non stop for the first tank of gas. The rings wont seat until you...

Husky 288xp first time porting and home made pipe

I suggested he get a tractor to skid his wood home, he didnt like it, a skidsteer is not near as good as a tractor on an old farm, I'd trade it for a tractor asap if I was him. Shadow banning peoples comments is a trend on youtube if someone comments what you dont want to hear. They claim it's...

    355t or cs590

One of these saws. The proyama gets good reviews, it has the newest best plastics and 2 bar nuts. https://www.arboristsite.com/threads/cheap-top-handle-johncutter-g2500-vs-neo-tec-12-thoughts.364595/post-7959829

    355t or cs590

For the small amount you will use the top handle I'd buy the 100 dollar 25cc chinese one and get the cs590 to use for everything else.

Why do "Chinesium" chainsaws need a richer oil mix?

I compare the clone saws to husky/stihl saws based on price not cc. My joncutter 5800 cost less than a 30cc husky but cuts twice as fast and has never broke in 4 years. As a cheap homeowner saw they're top dog IMO. My neotech892 (stihl660 clone) cost about what a 450 rancher does but will cut...

Better Saw to Replace Echo CS590?

Saws with primer bulbs do better when not used often. You can use the purge/primer bulb to flush the old gas out of the carb before starting them. Something like a 455 husqvarna rancher would be fine your your use, you dont need a pro level saw for cutting a few trees once in a while.

    HF Chain Grinder Thread

I bought the amazon version of the HF chain grinder. I picked up a 8 dollar 3/16 wheel for it at princess auto. The 3/16 wheel is only 100mm od and it had a 10mm center hole, I drilled it to 7/8 with a step bit easily so it fits. The smaller dia wheel doesnt seam to hurt anything, the cutters...

Better Saw to Replace Echo CS590?

Buy a bigger electric saw, they make ones that are as big and fast as the 590 now. They are made for user like you who only use a saw a few times a year at most.

    Cheap grinders

Can work pretty good... I've rocked a bunch of chains cutting firewood this year do to muddy conditions so I picked up a cheap amazon grinder to speed up restoring damaged chains. I had to buy a 3/16 wheel for it tho, I went the cheapest route and bought the 3/16 100mm wheel with a 10mm hole...

Better Saw to Replace Echo CS590?

They make full sized battery powered saws now for people who dont like or cant start gas saws. In some scenario's electric saws are better than gas saws too. I see some guys using saws for yard work who start a saw to make 2-3 cuts then shut it off. When you do this restarts are tricky as the...

    Stihl ms660 parts

Did you check out the farmertec part saw kits? They call that saw a g660 not an ms660. You could buy a complete kit saw and use what you need out of the kit pretty cheaply.

    Modded Poulan 3400

I started out porting saws in a similar way. In hindsight, I should've bought a timing wheel first, my first few port jobs ran better than stock but not great. I'd get a timing wheel for checking port timing, 9/10 saws gain power by tweaking the timing of the ports a bit. On most firewood/work...

    Overthinking Joncutter g5800 bar choice

The joncutter 5800 takes the same bar/chains as a husqvarna 50cc saw like a 550xp. I run a oregon 15 inch .325 bar on mine, that's the common size locally for 50cc huskys, this way I can buy a chain at the local store if I need one. A .325 rim sprocket is only a couple bucks to switch the saw to...

    Thin out summer bar oil?

Not all used oil is the same. I run syn 0w40 in my bikes and 5w20 in the car, it pours like water in the cold. It's so thin you cant run it as bar oil on it's own, you run out of bar oil with half a tank of gas left. The "used" oil I recently mixed up with my bar oil was out of my street bike...

    Thin out summer bar oil?

I mix thick summer bar oil with used motor oil. It looks bad because it's black but works totally fine. If the oil was good enough for the inside of a running motor, it's good enough for a chainsaw bar lol.

Husqvarna 359 for $25. Is it worth fixing ?

I'd fix it, they're nice fire wood saws. You can get a aftermarket top end dirt cheap if it needs it. Test or replace the seals and intake clamp while you're at it, something happened to it to cause it to burn up.

Why do "Chinesium" chainsaws need a richer oil mix?

I cut up over 20 cord of fire wood in the last 4 years with my joncutter 5800 that's modded to rev much higher than stock. It still runs like the day I bought it. I keep reading the fuel lines are junk, I may have to replace it in a few more years lol.

Why do "Chinesium" chainsaws need a richer oil mix?

I have chinese saws too. A 25cc top handle, 2 "62cc" saws, they're really 54.6cc and a 660 clone it's 99cc now. I've had good luck with the 62cc ones, they just work like they're supposed to but the plastics are easy to break if you're rough on em. The more expensive ones like the joncutter or...

    hacks for starting saws--getting older!

I can start my hopped up 55cc chinese saw with my pinky finger it pulls over so easy, it's weird having a saw pull over that easy but nice once you get used to it. Some of the Zenoah clones have very easy pulling easy pull starters. They pull so easy people break them pulling too hard.
