Surefire makes a great set of ear plugs for around $10. They are extremely comfortable to wear all day and most Walmarts carry them.

Does anyone know what chip deflector comes with the MS 462R? I ordered the larger clutch cover and need to get a chip deflector that will fit. Not sure if ones from any other saws will fit.

This saw is about as clean as I think you can get for a used saw. I always cleaned it after every use with compressed air and wiped it down

I have a very good condition MS461 for sale , it has about 15 tanks through it maybe a little more or less. It has a Stihl high output Oiler , have original also , Stihl factory MS461R model dogs and bigger clutch cover. Saw has not been abused or had any problems. Always ran 40:1 Shaffers with...

And the 261 still has more power than the 290 which I believe is one of Stihls best selling saws going back to the 029 farm boss. I have a 029 Super dad bought new in ‘96 and still runs good. I don’t use it much though because the 261 does everything it will with less weight.

How about a Stihl MS261 with an 18 inch bar? Lightweight , quick , nimble and with an 18 you can still cut up 24 inch wood. When you get much bigger than that your getting into heavier saws. I run a 461 and a 261 and the 261 handles most of what I cut. I like the 461 but the 261 is a fine saw...
