Older Husqvarna gas and oil caps

I started buying Husqvarnas in 1977. From 162's up through 185's and 2100. I have only a 162se now. I also have several caps. Some of them are vented with little holes along side the knob and a rubber seal inside. Others are not. Anyone know which caps were on which old saws and why? TIA

    Husqvarna Sticky!

Love my old 162SE. They had several different mufflers, this is the early one with a screw in screen in the outlet. I lost the screw in part a long time ago. Anyone know of a replacement source? Husky did that with several saws, and they had different sizes. I'm not sure what size or threading...

    Husqvarna 162 SE

I own one I bought new in 1977. I used it logging for 3 years, then since as my main firewood saw. Did a little port modding and ran it in contests, mostly against Stihls. It won them all. The carb was touchy and the needle linkage would get worn where the fork fit under the little hat on the...

Bar oil leaking into combustion chamber - Mac Super Pro 81

rwoods, your response is spot on. I took pictures when I took this out, and those pins were in the wrong way, and the gasket upside down to boot. All of which helps explain the leak. I hope. I'll fashion my own spring if I have to, and will report back to this thread.

Bar oil leaking into combustion chamber - Mac Super Pro 81

Pogo, thanks again. I saw those clips and wondered if he still had any. I will try to PM him. Here's a pic of the mystery piece.

Bar oil leaking into combustion chamber - Mac Super Pro 81

Pogo, thanks for the file, I found it earlier. Here's the rest of the story. I haven't owned either this SP81 or the PM 10 10 very long. Not long enough to tinker until now, like I did for years on my Huskies and Jonsereds. After opening up the SP81 and removing the auto pump, I found this...

Bar oil leaking into combustion chamber - Mac Super Pro 81

I thought it might be the actual piston, but the piston is all there. I've read and memorized all Mark Heimann's threads, I think. The piece I have doesn't look like it logically fits or stays put, I've been studying the pictures and schematics especially looking for the pin or protrusion and...

Bar oil leaking into combustion chamber - Mac Super Pro 81

I'm new to this forum, and I've got this problem and have done the forum searches - have found some excellent threads and information. Have learned this was a common problem on Mac 10 series and some of SP's. My question, and the embarrassing part: When I pulled the oil tank front screw and...

    Older Husqvarna 61cc Bogging Problem

I've got an old 162se husky, maintained by me since new in 1978. They can bog for several reasons, some mentioned here. Was the entire ignition replaced? The flywheel? The coil and plug wire? Plug wire boot on straight? Gas lines turn to mush over time. Was it replaced? The fuel filter itself...
