    Should I cable?

I would recommend removal, only because if it does fail its absolutely going to damage property. Where it was grown together for years is probably compromised and could lead to disease and rot.

Want to Buy 42” D009 mount bar

Yeah , it's rare for shops to keep a bar that big. Overhead for a high dollar item discourage most places.

    Stihl 038 magnum

Just a thought ,but the case gasket could be broken between the bottom of the cylinder and the oil tank. That would certainly create bubbles and excessive heat. Usually oil will seep into the crank case but not always. You'll have to do a pressure test to confirm.

What's up with this exhaust port?

It's a step that's supposed to increase the flow of the exhaust without making it a bigger hole, it does work .

I am new to stump grinding and have some questions.

They are a great stump cutter, we just got one last year. 1 suggestion is to check your drive sprocket bolts for the tracks. One of ours lost 7 of the 9 bolts which pooched the hub threads, the replacement was 373.00$ with bolts.

    Stihl 461 kicking back

You can, but I don't know the firing spot for it? Old saws used to have a timing mark on the flywheel that pointed right at the magnetic coil , convenience!

372 xt - Is there any hope or did I buy the wrong saw?

Im confused about this thread? The xt is already a stronger saw out of the box? Unless the tune is out of wack ,or your friend is secretly running a ported saw? Weight has nothing to do with performance, so idk why thats even mentioned? Is this the new fishing scam for stihl lovers!!! Lol.

    Stihl 461 kicking back

Chain brake only stops the drum, if the saw isn't running the clutch would not engage the crankshaft. Sometimes when the key shears it will get jammed between the crank and flywheel, basically you need to pull the flywheel to be sure.

    MS660 or MS661

Ms660 clone for 300.00$ is what I'd suggest for milling. They are pretty much solid from the 2 top sellers and are great for the non-pro use. It is true that a 395xp has more grunt , but that damn front tensioner is a PITA when hooked to a mill, and the external clutch. The 660 has a HUGE...

    Homelite Chainsaws

You want to try a Walbro? I think I probably have one or 2 of those. If it doesn't work out you can just ship it back.
