    McCulloch Chain Saws

10-10 Part II ... It's all clean. What a mess... Replaced the duckbill valve and it was all set. I gave the handlebar a quick wrap with some hockey tape, just for a more tactile feel. I'll redo it with something better later on. Pre test run pictures... It's almost too pretty. There...

    McCulloch Chain Saws

Hello everyone. I’m coming back to this thread with a little update to the 10-10 I’ve been fiddling with these past few months. After going through the initial problems I had (oil seal, weeping fuel tank seam) I’ve finally got the saw assembled, and it’s almost done. I figured I’d share the...

    The Beg for Manuals Thread

Greetings all. I am looking for the IPL and Service Manual for a Stihl FS-56 RC. Thanks in advance.

McCulloch Mini and Small CC Chainsaw's

020 o-ring is 7/8 ID -- 1" OD . 021, which I believe is what Minis use was 15/16 ID -- 1" 1/16 OD. (or was it 022?) I think that these saws share the same o-ring size for the pump base. Edju, I don't if this helps you, but here is a break down for the inner workings of the 300 series oiler. It...

Well now, about that Eager Beaver... The saw cleaned up real nice. I tried getting some decent pictures of the saw. Here it is sitting on some scrap wood at the "proving ground". This was a fun project. Other than a good cleaning, it needed very little to get running again. M

Beat with an "Ugly stick"... Thanks. I haven't had a decent chuckle in a while. I always liked the other version of that one: "It looks like it fell off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down." :)

Thanks Edju Yes, the oil pumps aren't the most sturdy things ever made. I took the pump apart once before when it wasn't oiling. I found out it was missing the o-ring. I replaced it, and after that, it oiled fine... And then it didn't. I still haven't had time to look at it yet, but I will. And...

Thanks Edju, I'm assuming a line got kinked somehow. I can see the impulse from the oiler hole, but it will not draw any from the tank. I will take a look when I have a chance. M

Oh to be so lucky to have such understanding neighbors! It's the same here. But then again, I have very... "Interesting" neighbors, so I don't think they would mind noise at odd hours either. :) I wish you luck on whichever project you do next. I do have a project... now two (the dirty 10...

    McCulloch Chain Saws

Here is a little update on the 10 series project I've got going on. I would like to thank Edju, and Heimannm for the help with the coil lead. I was able to replace it with a spare lead I had. And I will be looking at getting the suggested extractor bit. I had already disassembled the saw most...

I will (hopefully) get a couple of decent pictures soon. That is a cool looking saw. You just got to love that "piss off the neighbors in record time" sound, right? Well done, MacAttack. M

McCulloch Mini and Small CC Chainsaw's

Well everyone, the year is coming to an end (finally) and I'm starting to wind down. I have one last project I'd like to complete before the end of the month. And on that note: I had a little time and started monkeying around with the Eager Beaver. I was able to get the thing running, but have...

    McCulloch Chain Saws

Alright everyone, my brain has stopped working and I have a real stupid question about 10 series coils. I can’t remember if you could replace the coil lead on a 10 series. I thought there were leads you could replace, and ones that couldn’t be replaced. I’d really appreciate for someone to help...

That is very cool. Let us know how the recoil works out. And thanks for the cap pictures MacAttack. Yes, those are the caps I was thinking of. Underneath those plastic inserts is a piece of foam. It's usually completely dissolved. I always thought that it was just the plastic. I never quite...

I'll keep that in mind about the ignition on that saw. I do know that the "Eager Beavers" had a problem with grounding out, but that it is easily rectified. But yes, I do believe that points are oddly more reliable. On another note: That is a neat looking Mini Mac 6. I couldn't quite tell from...

McCulloch Mini and Small CC Chainsaw's

Here was the last thing I was working on. A little Eager Beaver that I came across a while ago. It was/is missing some minor pieces. As you would expect, it's a electronic ignition, and has a integrated top handle throttle latch, instead of the usual idle screw mounted one. It's an even more...

Good to hear that you are doing well, and are gearing up for some neat projects! Wishing you the best luck on all of them. That SP40 looks real cool. :) All of the projects I had, have come to a halt. Life has been a complete jackass. However, I have a 240 myself that I've been putting off for...

Paging @MacAttack First off - How have you been doing? I hope life has been treating you well. I just have a quick question for you about that fiberglass fuel wick idea you had. Did you ever get around to trying it out? I’ve been experimenting with retrofitting a Mini with a different kind of...
