    aluminum vs plastic hard hats

That is the arborist helmet for sure! My cutting compadres use them with the Sena so they can talk to each other. I would wear it for in the tree work but for lonkin life I will stick with wearing a brimmed "cap."

    aluminum vs plastic hard hats

Is that a thing? Pretty sure we don't need to wear hi vis. I work in a hickory shirt as do most of the other cutters. Hell the boss is in navy blue t-shirt, black Dickie's and ball cap everyday. Doesn't even wear a tin cap when cutting.

    Ms 064

Buy it. They are awesome. One tank of bad gas can ruin shiz tons of 661 computer parts. It is worth every penny. It is more than a pound less than that 661 and less than a quarter the price. A four something saw is not really gonna spin a 32" bar like a saw should and this would. I love old saws...

    What's your maintenance/care "schedule"/approach for your saws?

Just saw I am a "Lurker" What the **** does that even mean?!

    What's your maintenance/care "schedule"/approach for your saws?

I run max flow filters on my logging saws and think cleaning them every day is a bit much. And expensive. If I have the green "falling" foam on it I dust it off at the end of a day and clean it the second day. White "landing" foam is a 3 or 4 day deal. I run full comp 3/8 or skip .404, the 3/8...

God damn I wish I could buy that!!! My 064 is my favorite saw. I also wish I could find someone out here in Cali to do some port work. Good luck man.

    aluminum vs plastic hard hats

I wear a tin cap logging but plan to get a plastic lid. The suspension on the tin caps is junk in my opinion and the back of my head hurts a little a few hours into the day. They make it look like it has padding but doesn't. The plastic lids have padding under the rachet and have a much nicer...

    PPE in your opinion

Bowl of breakfast greens. Tin cap, ear plugs loose falling, deep for limbing/bucking, prescription glasses, screws on the soles of my boots and I wear madson insert jeans. I don't think I will ever cut my legs but my inserts save me from all the other crashes and bashes in the woods.

    Good Rain Gear?

Has anyone made themselves a tin cloth hickory shirt??? Has anyone made own tin clothing? My best friend is a bike fiend and made his own tin wax. If you do up broken in pants I have read it works well. More flexibility than stiff new super spendy stuff.

? isit only the foolish that heat with wood?

Only fools don't have a wood burning stove. They turn the power off for days here in Cali. The fools trust the power company and government.

Any man bunners heat with wood?

I did WAY more bad ass **** on my fixed gear riding breakless in the city than I will ever do with a chainsaw. Man buns are retarded tho... If you have ever headed into a red light at 20mph with no brakes making cars look stupid you know. Road bikes go in the retard catigory w them bunns. Bikes...

    Stihl 461 0r 462

My deck and shaved 362c feels like a friend's 462. I would get a 461 while you can. Or an 044. 462 isn't worth the money. Imho

    "Pro Safety Spikes"

You are right about that. I only like the five points with their safety wrap bar. My saws that came with stock west coast wraps have 661 spikes for lightness or the five points. The five points are super close to the 064 spikes. Which are Stihl kinda nuts. I definitely would not take five points...

    Safety pants

I use labonville inserts with Madsen jeans. The jeans run huge! Totally intended for suspenders but I have an ass and hips so I ditch the buttons. They don't snag up like cowboy chaps. Labonville has summer and winter pants they snap in also. Madsen jeans have nice rear pockets, I can carry 3...

    "Pro Safety Spikes"

The falling spikes from a 661 work on a 362. 044, 064, 066, 660, 661 are all the same I think. Get it from Madsens their prices are better than Bailey's. I love my 5 points with the safety wrap. Which I love and makes the saw a lot more crush proof... A bit.

What is your favorite all around Stihl chainsaw ?

Chain speed is a good thing. Raker raking and spinning faster are different. But both do keep you cutting longer. Part of what I like about my .404 setup is that the 7pin 404 is between 7&8 3/8th

What is your favorite all around Stihl chainsaw ?

Yeah true that about the computer. My logging saws 5/6000 ft want to explode at my sub 1000' house. That IS the number one reason the 661 is lucky enough to stay around. I also like it on the landing cus it may need a trigger start but doing that it fires first pull. It randomly dies at Wot and...

    "You Suck" Thread 2019--Pics required!

My you suck saw is a tie... Ms661c a buddy sold me has needed way too many parts. He wasn't exactly straight with me. This saw is why I am done with computers... It is my landing/ high chance of getting ruined saw. O44 10mm with a Hultz 52mm cylinder bought for $380. Unfortunately the...
