    Cordless with a 0.050 Bar?

Although the new Milwaukee 2826 M18 Cordless Top Handle Saw is here, there's still one catch. I've decided to give it as a present to someone who's very important to our operation, so it won't be coming out of its box for another 10 days or so. Regardless, I will get plenty of time [later this...

    Cordless with a 0.050 Bar?

The measurements I was referring to in Post No. 12 are prompted by comments about pitch variations and questions about "narrower" cutters (all on this thread). For example, @Franny K , stated that 3/8" pitch isn't actually 0.375-inches ( in Post No. 6 ). Nothing personal, but now I'm curious...

    Cordless with a 0.050 Bar?

This is a solid theory, but I'll tell you what ... once I've put the saw through its paces doing the work it was intended for, I'll get back with my impressions and more information, including measurements of both the Oregon 91VXL chain ( 0.375 / 0.050 ) we normally use with our gas-powered top...

    Cordless with a 0.050 Bar?

As our luck would have it, @Franny K , the saw is supposed to arrive today, but we also have a big snow storm in the forecast that's supposed to commence overnight. As for the link, I wasn't really trying to get you to the exact chain we'lI need for the 12" version. Instead, I was trying to...

    Cordless with a 0.050 Bar?

My apologies for the lack of spec data in the OP, @Franny K . There was a time factor involved with buying the cordless saw, so, considering the prices I was seeing for replacement chain, I pulled the proverbial "trigger" on the Milwaukee 2826-20C (12") variant instead of the 14" model. At...

    Cordless with a 0.050 Bar?

My reading is showing that Stihl recommends a 44-DL chain for use on 12" guide bars ( click here ). Considering that the Stihl 61PMM3 (Picco Micro Mini) chain is 0.043" gauge and 3/8" Pitch (0.375"), will it even work with the Milwaukee M18 saw? I'm thinking that a sprocket change is definitely...

    Cordless with a 0.050 Bar?

As the cordless saws have been around for a while now, I'd like to ask the tree service guys if anyone has attempted installing a 0.050" guide bar in place of the 0.043" bars that the cordless saws seem to come with? As we're already users of their cordless tools, I'm seriously considering a...

    Dolkita EA7900PRZ Carb Question

Okay, so there's some new information in this regard. The fellow we purchased the new Zama carbs from has informed us that they are actually the C3M-DM11D type: not the C10-DM11D models. Apparently, they were shipped out to him in the wrong boxes and a close visual inspection proves the...

    Dolkita EA7900PRZ Carb Question

I'm sure that I've griped about it before, but we purchased a new Makita EA7900PRZ over a year ago and, long story short, it hasn't seen its first log yet. Apparently, it has the fuel metering issue that I've read about - more than once - so I ordered a new Zama C1O-DM11D to replace the factory...

Looking for users of Dremel type chain sharpeners

Man, after making my last chain grinder post to this thread, I found discussions [on another forum] relating to converting round chain to square that are really blowing my mind! I have thought about this in the past, but I didn't know that folks were actually getting positive results doing...

Looking for users of Dremel type chain sharpeners

@Lightning Performance ..... Here's the grinder made for Oregon (shown below). The fact that it shows the Italian flag at the bottom-right leads one to believe that the grinder is made there? The Oregon part number is 620-120 and they're using the phrase "...automatic hydraulic chain clamping...

Looking for users of Dremel type chain sharpeners

@Mr.Metsä ..... I saw the photo (shown below) at the HD site you linked me to. My question about this Dremel attachment kit is simply whether the damned thing works or not? I can't tell you how many gimmicky things we've spent our hard-earned on that turned out to be Chinese garbage bin filler...

    Beg for manuals

Do you happen to have a Makita EA6100P manual and parts list? Thank you very much for looking into this for me. :)

    MS361 WC dual port mod

@Wood Doctor ..... I'm very sorry that I missed this post, sir. The MS361 that we worked on came with -- and still has -- a 20" bar installed. After getting rid of the factory muffler and replacing it with a modified unit, it is clearly my "go to" overall saw! We own more than one brand of...

    MS361 WC dual port mod

@James Sawyer ..... You might want to check out this thread regarding the MS361 and muffler mods. If your muffler doesn't work out for you, I can PM with information about where I got mine. If I had to estimate the power increase, it would be much more than 5-percent. Please let this thread know...

Looking for all the ol' MS361 Owners Out There

As we started moving toward Dolmar/Makita to get better weight/power ratio for our hard-earned, I've never even tried an MS500i, but, as this thread clearly bears witness to, the MS361 should benefit in a big way with a modded muffler. 👍

Looking for all the ol' MS361 Owners Out There

I've always used a 20-inch bar with our old MS361, so it's very interesting reading about a 25-incher being used on this particular saw. If you haven't added this fairly simple upgrade yet, I'd highly suggest that you look into it. Just this past weekend, we finished opening up a mountain view...

Looking for all the ol' MS361 Owners Out There

@BonScott46 ..... I'm not sure, Bon. I purchased the saw from a guy who sells the modded mufflers. Although I work on all of our saws -- I did not modify the muffler myself.

Looking for all the ol' MS361 Owners Out There

I've owned our MS361 since 2007 and it's proven itself to be pretty good all-rounder (with a 20" bar). Over the winter, the saw had to be dropped when a tree twisted the wrong way and I had to use an escape route. The result was that the saw got "clipped" by the falling tree and the brake...

Looking for users of Dremel type chain sharpeners

I'm an old vet with bad hands, folks, so, considering the pile we've collected over the past 16 or so years, a machine is pretty much a requirement. As some of the chains in the pile have been rocked out in our glacial till, a bench grinder may be the way to go. I get on the interwebs, from...
