    MS201t Problem

I once had a pull starter that was prone to jam. The cord was thin, it was braided, but could stretch slightly. When the handle was pulled, the cord on the spool would tighten and jam by sinking down into the neighboring wraps - it became stuck or much harder to pull free. I solved it by...

Do we still have any chainsaw women on here?

I’ll speak up for Patty as well. I found her posts always worth a look. No one has mentioned an absolute treasure of a lady and that was Sawtrolls beloved “Witchy”

    MS201t Problem

Okay, I’ve read through these excellent posts and I have a thought... What if the crank were no longer in its original shape? I’ll try to describe what I mean. Normally the axis of the crankshaft ends is parallel to the journal where the connecting rod bolts on. Everything swings together. But...

    Troy Bilt Super bronco woes

I have a couple of horse tillers with non-crt; but try this: Lift the tines up, run over the compost. When the tines are almost past the pile, drop them in. Let them churn and then lift and back up a little more and repeat. Do this until you’re at the “beginning” of the compost. It should all...

    Stihl saws banned by Osha?

I recall reading warnings on other Fuel tanks that read “Caution: Contents may forcefully eject” Or ... “Open slowly” None of those tanks caps flipped up btw. Nice young man. Sorry he got hurt, I shudder to think what would’ve happened if he hadn’t made it back to his line... One time near...

    Echo/Shindaiwa crank seal replacement.

I have an echo powered mantis tiller that I’m having trouble with. Circa 1988, 21cc - sv4b engine I replaced the coil a couple years ago and just cleaned the carb last week. But it ran poorly.. It will start, and idle, but it hunts when you give it more gas. The hotter the engine the more...

Echo CS310 - brand new; chain gets jammed

How did you determine the chain was tight enough? If by chance you tightened the chain until the adjustment screw felt tight-you’ve overtightened the chain itself. Could you post a video of the saw cutting?

    362 hard starting

That’s really good information.... Let’s assume that vapor lock is the issue. If so, it would take some priming pulls to get fuel into the carb. The fuel in the tank would make its way through the filter, up the line to the carb, through the diaphragm and back out through the return line and...

Echo CS 3400 only runs when choke is on

If you’re satisfied the carburetor is all set maybe vacuum test your case.

    362 hard starting

Perhaps and perhaps not... Fuel will readily boil in a vacuum. The complaint stated bubbles not any geyser effect. OP - the next time you’re having trouble warm starting open the fuel cap and then put it back on and try starting. If the problem abates I’d be inclined to replace the tank vent...

    362 hard starting

No not part of cap. Look here. https://www.diyspareparts.com/parts/stihl/diagrams/ms-362-c/34394e16-0675-4442-9722/

    362 hard starting

Your tank vent is not working. The fuel is under vacuum and is boiling. This also explains hard starting when warm.

I need good rope for pulling trees

Bill I don’t have experience with trees like that, but I agree that’s maybe a good plan. Use your equipment for after the drop and you’ll be safe and still be productive and having a good time.
