added a car port for a wood shed

Looks great, it'll keep you and your firewood nice and dry. How many times do you load the OWB in an average 24 hours? TIA Cheers

A few thoughts at the wood pile

Good on ya Dave. First year I was out of work I gathered firewood from along the quietier road sides and cut it up with a hand saw ... gathered enough wood to justify a chainsaw the second year, then an old tractor and all cheaper than buying fuel, not counting anything for my time of...

    Off topic whole house generator

I'm with the Lister guy, well in the fact that I'm gonna head down that road when funds allow ... cheapish to run, will run the important bits in an outage and not break the bank to install or run. I'd also love a solar array and battery bank connected so the Listeroid is always running loaded...

    Firewood rack

My version of the theme ... End pallets are tied in at the bottom and a single rope holds them together along the top. This also gives you a nice guide for stacking a nice even wood pile. This firewood was stored in rounds under tarp for 18 months, I'm just getting around to...

    Morso Stoves?

I have a Morso 1412 and my Dad has the Morso Owl, both have the tertiary air system. These stoves have a great finish, they are efficient burners, I'd certainly buy the brand again. Cheers :)

Pics of your set up for handling up to 20 cord

jasult I've looked at similar bins over here, they had vents in ... but the guy was asking 50'ish US for them ... so I decided free pallets would do me for now :) They certainly cut down on that bit of rehandling after splitting ... my idea was to split into them, like you are doing and...

Pics of your set up for handling up to 20 cord

I've been fortunate getting all my firewood for free, at least so far! I work at getting the turf won aswell mind you, but that mostly goes to the BIL, there's far too much ash and dust with turf and far more heat and lasting burn with wood. I don't like working outdoors in our wet climate...

Pics of your set up for handling up to 20 cord

Its a borrowed tractor, its a David Brown 880 goes really well. The link box as we call them is 36'' x 5'6'' it does tip, but I usually build out of it ... you can see the last few loads built by the house, nice bit of ash which I cut at 10'' to fit our small stove. Cheers :)

Pics of your set up for handling up to 20 cord

Finally got around to getting my splitter finished, got a few minor things like support leg fitted, safety guard on the drive shaft, and a couple more spuds on the push plate ... oh and a new paint job .... Thanks for looking, hope you approve...

    Parents shopping for wood stove

It must have tertiary air supply, I can't believe how clean and efficient they are IMHO Cheers :)

    Broke into the "Midwinter Stash"

We're having the coldest December - Jan in over a 100 years  I love it :) but have to be careful who I say that to! I hit the half way mark in my wood supply the other day, so I'm using a bit more than normal, I always have wood left over, this year it could be a close call. Lesson...

    WHY do they wait ???

Some folks just can't organise themselves, others like the attention, others are finding it tough in these hard times ... but for whatever reason its still darned cold out there and I wouldn't like to be them ... my neighbour called at my door yesterday asking if he could borrow a gallon of...

gink595 I like the look of the Bobcats but they are too expensive around here, unless its one well run in lol. Your set up is a heavy duty one ... very nice. I seen a bobcat on the web with the logging attactment for taking down trees and I thought yea I need one of those :chainsaw: A nice...
