I have both but prefer the Husky....it's smoother, better balanced and sounds cool!! The Stihl is lighter and I like the transparent fuel tank.

Probably would'nt hurt to check the air gap between the coil and the flywheel.

372 xp is an awesome saw and very popular around here. I don't know of any problems with this model.

I bought a Husky 268 at a auction about 6 years ago, the tag on it read bad piston and cylinder. Since the saw was pretty clean I bought it for $75 bucks for a project saw, got it home and checked the cylinder and didn't see any problems so I fueled it up and started it and adjusted the carb. I bought mine new in 1994. It has never done anything but perform flawless every time I've used it and it has been used alot. Still my favorite:chainsaw:. Rich

Could be the coil breaking down and loosing spark when warm. I would start with checking spark. Good luck. Rich
