There are several options for the 1.2L tank. The chop saws are probably your best bet for finding something used..., like a whole chop saw. Think I'd pretty much look for a one-piece tank just because. Other 'Fan Housing' numbers will include the entire assembly. Your main consideration may...

I evidently misread what's going with the filter covers and had it back-assward with the Super actually having the taller one, hence an extra spacer, . My bad, dude. Sorry for any confusion.

Fret not about that 1111-149-1200 gasket. It's a 'Brazil only' part. As for the spacer, (they refer to it as a 'flange'), I think you'll find the air box cover will dictate which one to use. If you're going all in for a Super, it has a lower profile cover, hence the shorter flange. and check...

Yep. Extended soaking in any of today's non-petroleum based solvents can lead to discoloration and even etching of the soft metals. Paint is no exception. Compressed air with a high velocity nozzle (I use a Vacula), a plastic scraper and tooth brush, a couple cans of brake cleaner..., that'll...

There's a reason this thread is 80 pages long. And it ain't because the 1111 series isn't without 'complications'...., starting with the same part numbers occasionally still being used for an updated / different version of a part. LOL Go here and immerse yourself...

While your enthusiasm is admirable and well understood, the cart is way out in front of the horse until the saw is in your possession for a thorough cleaning and inspection to identify what you actually have to work with. The serial number can provide the general era of its production along with...

It will be a much happier and better performing saw with no governor if tuned correctly.

Depends on the oil. LOL Seriously though, run a 40:1 or so mix ratio with good synthetic oil and keep the chain oil flowing and it should be fine if it's still just at the edge of 4-stroking while in the cut. BTW, it's my understanding that not all variations of the HS-60 had governors. May be...

If it's 4-stroking at wot in the neighborhood of 10,000K it's getting enough fuel unless the aftermarket ignition module has a limited ceiling and you're banging into that. Start ultra fat and lean it out a little at a time and see how it behaves. If you have a tach, even better. I think 10,500...

Or just buy one of these from Duke and don't look back. Pays for itself the first time you use it just in time saved if nothing else -- like screwing up a piston trying to redneck the pin or bearings out...

    V.3 M-Tronic Coils for the MS661 C / New Calibration Procedure

Not sure what that has to do with the subject of the thread, but I will add one more note that sorta does and could be considered a sleeper aspect to the early 661 M-tronic problems; poor air filtration. Combine that with already wandering (mostly lean) ECM adjustments at extended high RPMs...

    V.3 M-Tronic Coils for the MS661 C / New Calibration Procedure

The 4704B is a Gen3 module and requires the procedure described in post #1. No 'tool' required and is probably the rather useless MDG1 diagnostic system Stihl introduced to support the M-tronic units as erroneously understood by your seller as well as most Stihl dealers. Your kit should have...

    V.3 M-Tronic Coils for the MS661 C / New Calibration Procedure

1144-400-4703 was the initial 661 v.3 ECU (ECM). (Read post #1) It replaced whatever was on the saw with the v.3 technology and brought the new calibration procedure with it -- which is still used. The latest solenoids can be white or green and one of the new orange fuel filters should also be...

There are a few variants that will fit. Here's all you need to know to shop around. Perhaps @heimannm may have one (or ten) available? https://randysengine.repair/products/brake-lever-mcculloch-chainsaw-part-91251a-91251-01 BTW, welcome to the club.
