    372xp leaking bar oil

Anybody seen a 372 leak oil from underneath the muffler? Could it be the case gasket leaking? I've taken the muffler off and don't really see a crack or flaw. I thought the bar was clogged, or something while I was cutting but after a good cleaning and reassembly its oozing out from under...

    I prefer outboard Clutches

On a larger saw, outboard is a more rigid setup for heavy bar lengths. On a small saw, inboard is a convenience but not a necessity.

What Skills Should You Have to Use a Saw?

Sad to say but scouts here try to avoid using axes. Seems contradictory to outdoors oriented kids but liability has creeped in there too. I'm glad my two boys get the experience splitting and stacking. Like it or not..:))

    FIREWOOD..50cc,60cc,70cc???

50cc, mainly for my back. 70cc, for falling. A 90cc for stumping and the occasional BIG stick.

    550xp Dawg Mod

As a pivoting tool for when you are felling trees. Makes up for gravity not working sideways. I know it's a 50cc saw but I've still dropped small trees with it.

Thoughts and prayers for Tree sling'r (Jasha) who is in surgery.

Jasha, you don't know me from a bump on a log, but my thoughts/prayers and well wishes go out to you and especially your family. Sometimes things like this are harder on the ones who love us the most. Get well and keep everything positive!!

    Why an axe?

I don't mind using an axe for beating in wedges. If I were scared of falling on it I'd get a thick leather sheath for just the edge, leaving the other side free. Like it has been said, axes are more useful than just hammers.

2 cycle Oil - Synthetic or Not to Synthetic

The cost makes a difference, but I've started buying Stihl ultra quart bottle packs and measuring it out. CHEAPER for me that way.

Well i would not have believed it

I've got a 390 that did somthing very similar. I'll have to try the grease I guess.

    Wood chippers

Never owned a chipper before, what's good or bad to look for in new/used models?

    Show your chips!

Have to admit, after the "spoon" thread, this was my first thought!

    3 saws

    346xp, 372xp, 390xp... Works for me :)

    I'm finally embracing the technology...

Why? When it could have been a spork???

    Today's cutting.

Yup it was fun. All three saws ran a little. Was reminded why I like water oak when I put the X27 Fiskars to work also.

    Today's cutting.

Well it's still warm here but a tree was needed on the ground before city cut it up. They just take them to the dump and they rot. It was a water oak, and it fell where I wanted it, nobody hurt, and a lot of fun cutting. 390,372,and 346xp for the job, probably didn't need the 390, but I enjoy...

What was the first saw you ever used?

Craftsman/Roper 3.7 that was new in 1980 was my first. Used it some last yr. I've got newer faster saws but still enjoy hearing that one run.

    Stihl 066 vs 660

Is there not a specific yr for the designation change? That's all I was asking.
