    dissecting an earthquake chainsaw

I agree with BrushSlayer, it's probably the fuel lines. Had the same thing happen to both of mine and my dad's. Fuel lines aren't fun to get to but easier than that tank vent

The Official, 2nd. Annual Pennsylvania Spring GTG (May 9, 2015)

That's why I like the vintage made in the USA stuff haha. Hopefully the engineers at stihl have more common sense than the ones I'm working with.

The Official, 2nd. Annual Pennsylvania Spring GTG (May 9, 2015)

Unfortunately looks like I have to back out this year. I have a customer with 3, 800hp blowers that crashed on Monday. I've been busting ass all week. But still have to work through the weekend to get em back up and running. You boys have fun, I'll be looking forward to seeing the...

The Official, 2nd. Annual Pennsylvania Spring GTG (May 9, 2015)

Since this is only a week away, I figured I should read up on the post and see what is going on. Bought an old farm house last year, that has eliminated all of my free time to work on saws. I'll be there with a smile and a few of my vintage beasts. Looking forward to the comrodery.

    Remington Chainsaws(including Mall chainsaws)

It was one of the saws that originally brought me to this site, and I have been working on it for ages. My PL-4 is finally done! I finished it last night, but wanted to get a few pictures in the day light before I put it in wood. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I use Rustolleum...

    Pennsylvania GTG MAY 3rd 2014!

I love that saw, and finally got a pack of files for it. I'll have two old Remington'S running next year, and I'm going to do my very best to have that 2 man running for next year! It should hit my bench in a few weeks

    Pennsylvania GTG MAY 3rd 2014!

Thanks to Showrguy and Mrs Showrguy for the incredible hospitality, and amazing food. Was an awesome time. I have locked away my checkbook, and resisting the urge to get myself one of those fancy ported saws like I ran today. Awesome time talking with everyone, and I have to say, Dozerdan...

    Remington "rodeo master" 5520 chainsaw

After the Earthquake chainsaw run a lot of people from here had (including myself, I have 2) I have been watching these Remingtons. I love the old Remingtons, and own a ton of them. I know these have no relationship other than the name, but I wouldn't mind picking one up myself just to play...

Things we have learned the hard way

no matter how careful you are, those little carb springs will always manage to go shooting across the room. A clean floor, and quick eye makes them slightly easier to find.

My mind has just been BLOWN!

I had noticed the orange trigger in the OP. I know John Deere collectors are a little nuts, my Uncle and Cousin have 12ish old deers all done up. And they live in town. I think the worst part is the stenciled letters. To someone that knows nothing about chainsaws it looks very clean other...

My mind has just been BLOWN!

Bored at work and scrolling through feabay, when I stumble onto this....John Deere Fanatics are complete morons. For people that don't want to load the page: Up for sale is a John Deere 19 (Remington PL-5) chainsaw that is in running order, and has been "cleaned up and painted" Looks pretty...

    dissecting an earthquake chainsaw

I ran my 38cc quake before and after, and have seen the difference. Also, I bought 4 of the 45cc saws, 3 I had sold before I bought them. Only one guy wanted me to do the muffler mod, so the other two just had a slot put in the carb screws, and tuned in some wood. And why would I want to run...

    dissecting an earthquake chainsaw

All 4 of the 45cc's I bought leaked oil. Never had a problem with the 38cc. The oil leaks from around the rubber grommet to goes into the oil tank. Remove the clutch (use heat, it's locktited on) remove plastic cover over the oil pump, remove oil pump, and use pliers to pull grommet out of...
