Yup, you sure can. 2149 is the same saw as a Husky 351. Mag case with an open transfer cylinder, so you do not need a riser like you would if you converted a 350/2150. Bolt it on and go.

Really? Huh. Learn something every day. Did not know there was an update. Most all of the failed cranks I have seen on these saws had the clutch threads snapped off. Presumably impact wrench damage. Good to know though.
Yes, side to side play on the big end rod bearing is normal. Radial/end play is not. Also, your cylinder looks just fine to me. That is a Kolbenschmidt 181 cylinder and will run a fair bit stronger than any aftermarket top end, IMHO.
